That was followed by a two-year fellowship in retina care at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. He completed a residency in ophthalmology at SUNY-Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. He continued on to medical school at Rutgers, and completed his medical internship at Staten Island Hospital.
